Biography

David Hunt was born in Northampton, England, in 1968, and aspired to be an artist from an early age. Aged sixteen, the 80s workaday world demanded ‘get a real job’, sideswiping his youthful passion and skill in painting and drawing with a career that apparently saved him from being a starving artist.  David became a computer repair engineer.

Following
graduating with a first-class BA honours award in Fine Art Painting and Drawing, his work reflected a disdain of windowless factories fixing computers through the abstraction and distortion of landscape painting.

Now however, following a serious heart attack, David has begun to return the space in which he lives amid the tranquillity of nature's scenery. His latest series of landscape and seascape paintings reveal the hidden talent of a lifelong dream.

Artists's note: "I am enjoying creating oil paintings of places that I can imagine I'm just being in, a place for its atmosphere, a place to meditate upon the infinite and it's forms.  These idylic, wooded, rural, coastal, mountainous landscapes are inspired on the one hand, by the pipe dream of actually living in a place like those inside these paintings, on the other I just want to share a glimpse of the world through my eyes and God given creativity."

"If just for a moment you escape the mundane, by entering inside, to live or walk inside one of the paintings I make, I will consider my endeavors to have been worthwhile."
